UPSTART CROWS OF SANTE FE

UPSTART CROWS OF SANTE FE Upstart Crows of Santa Fe has been organized as an educational theatre group for young people age 11-18 with a focus on understanding and performing the works of William Shakespeare. Our mission is to help Santa Fe youth experience the plays first-hand exploring Shakespeares language and meaning with the help of experienced directors. Studies have shown that engaging with these plays boosts self-reflection and creative thinking. During this last year we have performed over 10 performances of Shakespeares plays including Hamlet Midsummer Nights Dream King Henry IV part 1 as well as 4 workshops. We have reached out to the public school system and have worked with 10 school programs here in Santa Fe and Bernalilo counties. All youth enrolling do not need to audition to be in the program. Approximately 50 different youths were involved during the year.
