YORKSHIRE PLAYHOUSE

YORKSHIRE PLAYHOUSE The Yorkshire Playhouse is an amateur community theatre whose mission is to bring live theatre performances to our local patrons as well as visitors from many surrounding areas. Offerings include four to five main stage productions, a Children's Theatre (described elsewhere), a "Rising Stars" production for young person (middle school through high school), and a script writing opportunity for aspiring playwrights. The Playhouse works closely with local York University providing additional opportunity for students to broaden their theatre experience outside their usual academic venue. High school seniors who have participated in Playhouse productions are invited to apply for scholarships to help fund their college educations. All board members and participants are volunteers. There are no paid positions.
