LMWS INC Mission Pacific Lifeline, a faith-based ministry, empowers women and their children facing chronic homelessness and helps them achieve personal and social stability. Our purpose is to eliminate the threat of chronic homelessness for these families, providing the structure that allows them to establish a solid foundation and gain self-sufficiency. Our strategic program and commitment to the long-term stability of the families we serve distinguishes us from other shelters. History Pacific Lifeline’s legacy has its roots in San Francisco: “Lifeline Ministries” began in the early 1900’s as a street ministry to sailors, and then a rescue mission to the destitute. In 1989, it transitioned to a community-based shelter for homeless women and their children. Since November 1995, the program has been located in Upland, California, continuing the mission of empowering homeless families on a path to self-sufficiency. Results Pacific Lifeline successfully establishes long-term stability for single-mother families. We provide the structure through which families build a foundation that enables them to achieve self-sufficiency. Upon completion, women are equipped to maintain housing and employment, meet their children's needs, and continue working on the insight they have gained into their own needs and behaviors.
