GAMELAN SEKAR JAYA GSJ's mission is to foster artistic exchange between Bali and the United States through residencies, classes, workshops, performances, and the creation of innovative new works of music and dance and to share the excitement of this exchange with diverse audiences in California, the US, and abroad. As a nonprofit volunteer arts organization, Gamelan Sekar Jaya presents and teaches new and traditional Balinese music, dance, and theater at diverse performance venues, K-12 schools, colleges, and at the organization's South Berkeley community center.
