The statistics are overwhelming. A positive life seems out of reach for many youth in foster care. Nearly 150,000 youth ages 12-18 reside in the foster care system. The teenage years are awkward at best, but for teens in the foster care system, these years are especially difficult. Everyday is a struggle to survive. Many end up pregnant, homeless, incarcerated or trapped in sex trafficking. But you—me—can be part of the solution.
