American Friends of the Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies Foun The purpose of the Organization is to support the core aims of the Irish Institute of Hellenic Studies in Athens: to establish a distinctive Irish voice in the study of Greece and its culture from earliest times to the present day; to promote the mutual understanding of Greek and Irish culture through lectures and other events; to maintain a permanent office and staff in Athens; to develop research and study programs publications and ongoing archaeological fieldwork. The Organization is organized under the North Carolina Nonprofit Corporation Act and is a charitable corporation within the meaning of Section 55A-1-404 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. The Organization is organized and operated exclusively for charitable educational and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as amended or any corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
