EDENS EDGE KENAI PENINSULA POULTRY PROJECT Raise and breed quality livestock for slaughter/processing/donation for low-income families in Alaska. Providing donations directly to the Food Bank, Churches, and Families. We have also expanded via offering teaching slaughtering/butchering procedures. Allow families to procure live animals to slaughter/butcher of their own accord, to meet their religious requirements. Teach canning and other home food preserving methods along with other free gardening tutorials designed for Alaska. Extra donated livestock not suitable for butcher is donated to families in need that can utilize them for small flocks for their fresh eggs, etc. With emphasis on how to make raising poultry in Alaska affordable. We are now restructuring to acquire a loan to import and breed alaska first flock of parent stock of meat producing chickens to help fund the project and get more meat and eggs out to alaskans. Along with importing other speciality breeds for cold heartiness that also require less feed consumption
