INSTITUTE OF TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERS AT UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. Nationally, the ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles to research, planning, functional design, implementation, operation, policy development, and management for any mode of ground transportation. The UNLV ITE student chapter aims to promote transportation knowledge of its members, helps them learn about the recent designs and technologies in the related fields, encourages education, and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information. This chapter utilizes scientific knowledge derived from engineering principles, provided within the education curriculum afforded by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited engineering school.
