CAROLINA MIGRANT NETWORK INC Aprenda Más Representing Immigrants in Bond Proceedings About Us Comunidad Colectiva Featured on Netflix Learn more about our work in NC. Welcome to the Carolina Migrant Network Carolina Migrant Network’s (CMN) core mission is to provide legal services for individuals in removal proceedings. We provide legal education on the US immigration System and empower immigrant communities to participate in everyday and civic life. We envision a world of empowered, self-determined, organized communities free from fear of family separation. Our Story CMN was co-founded by Stefania Arteaga and Becca O’Neill. Stefania and Becca met in 2017 doing legal advocacy work in the non-profit sector in Charlotte. Although NC has an established (and growing) migrant and immigrant population, low cost and free immigration legal services available to these communities is limited in scope. CMN is the ONLY organization in the Carolina’s to provide free legal representation to people facing removal proceedings and in Immigration detention facilities. Our Services Our dedicated team fights for justice, ensuring that no one navigates the complex immigration system alone. Beyond legal defense, we advocate for systemic change and work to protect families, strengthen communities, and resist harmful policies. Legal Services All legal services are provided at no cost. We provide immigration legal services to individuals in removal proceedings, both detained and not detained. In addition to providing direct representation, we also host pro se clinics and assist with pro see filings of applications including asylum applications. Community Organizing Our advocacy department “Comunidad Colectiva” collaborates with young people from immigrant or refugee families in Mecklenburg county to focus on organizing efforts pertinent to community needs such as non-partisan voter engagement, educational and cultural events. In 2023 we launched the Monarca Fellowship, which aims to train youth in the Charlotte area on immigrants rights organizing and advocacy.
