LIFE HOUSE CORPORATION Our MissionSHELTERING MOMS; NURTURING BABIES Life House Maine is a Christ-centered nonprofit, in Central Maine providing residential homes for expectant mothers. Sheltering them through pregnancy and offering hope, support and life skills while raising their babies through the first year.Life House Maine provides a mentoring and parenting curriculum in a caring community, without regard to race, national origin, socioeconomic status or religious affiliation. Our Story2019 / Year of Vision– A group of concerned men and women gathered with a burning desire to serve their community, and meet a critical need. A steering committee began meeting regularly to brainstorm their vision. It was early in these meetings that the inspiration came clearly. If we were willing to be humble and trust our Lord, He would build; A Place of Love, Safety and Support for Expectant Mothers.2020 / Year of Establishment - With the support of our community we transformed our vision into a non-profit corporation - two fold. A resident home for expectant mothers, with dedicated staff and volunteers. Life skill classes for residents and community members. This was the foundation year, applying and receiving our 501c3 status, crafting our corporation by-laws, and documenting our resident home application, and guidelines.2021 / Year of Growth – This is the year we cast our vision into the community. Building a network of financial supporters and an Army of Volunteers. Central Maine - Here we come! Thanks to many of you who have partnered with us, our Home Campaign has been a great success. 2022 / Year of Acquisition – Our community has responded and we can't express how grateful we are. In December we extended our faith in a creative offer on a 10 bedroom renovated farmhouse. After numerous obstacles, we persevered and were awarded the contract.2023 / Year of Residency - All our planning, and hard work paid off. We were thrilled to receive our first mom in July, and then our first newborn in August. We launched our Volunteer Orientation sessions, as we began training our support teams. Our property management team has been busy maintaining our new building and grounds.2024 / Year of the House Parents - The much needed on-site house parents moved into the Carriage House apartment this year. This milestone allowed us to move forward with our vision of full house occupancy. Hooray!2025 / Year of Success Stories: With seven mothers and babies served, we are rapidly accumulating stories of changed lives. We have also hired a full-time Assistant House Manager, which facilitates a more robust path of support and restoration for each resident.
