MUNDO MADRE INC We aim to protect, preserve, and rehab the rainforest. We do that by two primary methods: 1) acquiring rights to rainforest to protect. 2) Helping people preserve and rehab wooded areas in the U.S. as a way of getting them interested in preserving biodiversity; with the ultimate goal of getting them interested in protecting the rainforest. We conduct a considerable amount of educating in both the US and the tropics because we believe that the best thing we can do for the rainforest, and saving biodiversity in general, is creating more people that care about it. As an organisation that follows the dharma, our sole purpose is to mitigate suffering in the world around us. Protecting the rainforest for the health of the world is the primary way we do this on a macro level however on a micro level we also focus on mitigating suffering locally via helping the homeless, planting trees, and saving wildlife.
