Our Priorities The Kansas City Community Land Trust works with and for people who have been systemically excluded from economic opportunity. Our programs help ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from quality housing, community investment, and homeownership. KCCLT is a mission-driven community partner that creates permanently affordable housing solutions and advocates for housing policies that promote equity and inclusion.To accomplish this, KCCLT acquires land and removes it from the speculative, for-profit real estate market. We hold the land “in trust” forever for the benefit of the community by ensuring that it will always remain affordable for income-qualified homebuyers. There are over 300 CLTs throughout the U.S., as well as several organizations using the CLT model to provide affordable ownership opportunities. Our Mission The community land trust model ensures that property invested in and developed by the community, stays in the community.
