ROSEBUD SCHOLARSHIP FUND Our mission is to empower Sicangu Lakota students through scholarships, mentorship, and training to increase student degree completion and the sovereignty of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate. We have three programs: (1) Scholar Program Our scholars are all Rosebud enrolled (with 2 high-achieving Rosebud residents), and they receive $500/semester in return for their participation in our program. Participation constitutes the following each month of the school year: 1 hour of professional development, 2 hours of peer mentorship, and remaining in good academic standing. (2) General Assistance This is simple scholarship assistance awarded at $500/semester to any student that meets the following requirements: (1) Rosebud enrolled (2) pursuing higher education (3) Cultural Exchange Opportunity for students to visit the Mori of Aotearoa New Zealand and continue their professional development journey's. The idea is for them to gain perspective to use when they want to create change.
