IFS EMPOWERMENT CENTER This Corporation is organized and will be operated exclusively to carry out the purposes of Interfaith Family Services, a Texas nonprofit corporation ("Interfaith Family Services"), which: (1) is exempt from federal income taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Code; (2) is not a private foundation within the meaning of Section 509(a) of the Code; (3) is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and religious purposes; (4) establishes, renovates, operates, manages, maintains, improves, and supervises one or more nonprofit housing projects for the impoverished; (5) provides support and relief to the impoverished by providing short-term housing without regard to their ability to pay; (6) assists and enables the impoverished to improve their spiritual, directional, and financial circumstances; and (7) does any other act or thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing purposes or in advancement thereof, but not for the pecuniary profit or financial gain of the directors or
