Our mission is to offer a safe environment where individuals can rebuild their lives, access essential services, and regain their independence. Through the grace of God, compassionate care, and tailored assistance, we aim to empower those in need and guide them towards a brighter future.Our BeginningIn 2017, the idea of a shelter in Portage was conceived. Thanks to the support of our partners, including churches, foundations, businesses, and individuals from the community, property was purchased, building renovations were completed, and staff was chosen. As of April 2022, we are now able to provide a safe and secure shelter for those in need. Commitment to making a positive impact in the community strong, and ongoing support will help us continue our mission of helping in need.Why the Name Change? Our mission and ministry have evolved significantly. We are pleased to announce our new name, Shepherds House, which more accurately reflects our identity and purpose. What Does This Mean for Our Donors? While our name has changed, our commitment to our mission remains steadfast.
