Shared Housing and Resource Exchange California SHARE California (SHARE) is a home share matching program active in 23 cities and towns throughout Sonoma County, and a 501c3 nonprofit. We offer housing in exchange for an agreed level of support in the form of financial exchange (Rent Exchanges), assistance with household and/or personal tasks (Service Exchanges), or a combination of both. SHAREs target population is our aging community (those 60 years and older) and those homeless or at risk of homelessness. US Census data conservatively estimates that there are 60,000 empty bedrooms throughout Sonoma County among this population. The Census also estimates that aging baby boomers are projected to outnumber children for the first time in US history. This growing population throughout Sonoma County is currently 39% of the total population.
