Data sourced from IRS 990 public filings
MUSIC MAKERS FOUNDATION INC Founded in 2007, Music Makers Foundation began providing music lessons to talented, under-privileged students in MA. Students were given private lessons and participated in student bands. The program was a huge success, and students began performing in music halls in Boston area. In 2008, the Foundation expanded, hosting programs in cities across the country. Working with over 600 students over the course of several weeks, the programs provided high-schoolers the opportunity to work with guest artists in rehearsals and workshops on contemporary techniques and improvisation. Students and guests performed together in a concert finale in each city. As of 2011, the Foundation has reached over 2500 students in 13 states, with three permanent educational facilities in Boston area and programs scheduled internationally. While school music programs across the country face drastic budget cuts, the Foundation provides unique and inspiring music education to students throughout the world.
