Scott and White Health Plan Scott and White Health Plan, dba Baylor Scott & White Health Plan (SWHP), is part of Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH). BSWH is a Texas nonprofit, faith-based organization that provides patient care, medical education, medical research and other community services to the residents of North and Central Texas.SWHP started operations in January 1982 as a nonprofit HMO making available a comprehensive health plan providing quality care with dignity and respect to its members.SWHP's service area, with its subsidiary health plans, encompasses 171 counties and provides coverage to more than 530,000 enrollees in North, Central and West Texas.SWHP continues to introduce new health benefit plans, technology and services to meet the needs of enrollees, employers, and the community. It currently offers individual and family plans, insured and self-funded plans for small and large employers, Medicare Advantage plans, and Medicaid plans.
