In its Forty-six (46) years of existence, ADV has assisted approximately 110,422 unduplicated seniors through provision of 15,758,697 congregate meals: 12,800,965 home delivered meals: 4,674,004 one-way transportation trips; and 533 subsidized rental housing apartments through ADV’s HUD section 202 developments. Without the dedicated hard work of over 400 senior volunteers, who provide over 82,000 man hours of volunteer work on an annual basis, ADV would not have been able to impact positively on the lives of such seniors during its forty-six years of existence. Alex Guerra Executive DirectorA word from our Executive Director Mr. Alex Guerra has been employed with Amigos Del Valle, Inc. for eighteen (18) years and is very passionate about the Nutrition, Housing and Transportation services the organization provides for the elderly community in the Rio Grande Valley. Through those eighteen (18) years, Mr. Guerra has gained extensive experience and knowledge in all areas of the organization’s operation. Mr. Guerra’s strength is having an Accounting background and his ability to identify new opportunities to enhance the agency’s market expansion and revenue growth. His main focus is to continue ADV’s legacy of service, increasing the budget, and extending out to other agencies and organizations to form community partnerships throughout the South Texas region. Mr. Guerra holds a certification as a Non-Profit Executive Director (CNED) and a certification as a Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) in the Housing field. Mr. Guerra is also a member of the Meals On Wheels Texas Board of Directors and has been appointed to numerous committees with local municipalities. Mr. Guerra implements a philosophy of moving forward with improved services and technology in an effort to show the elderly community the love and care ADV has for them.
