His contributions, especially his involvement in the USTA National (USTA National Committee Member, Sectional(USTA Southern President), and District associations (USTA Louisiana President), have elevated the visibility and growth of tennis in his community, across the state and beyond. And his enthusiasm continues to inspire new generations. While serving as President of the LTA, Madlyn established the original structure of the Louisiana Tennis Hall of Fame. Their passion for tennis took root in Lafayette and has since inspired countless others throughout the state and beyond.Of their ten children, eight earned high state rankings and collectively won numerous high school state championships — with Kathryn alone capturing six titles. Several Boustany siblings achieved strong Southern rankings, and two — James and Kathryn — reached national rankings. Charles Sr. played collegiate tennis, and six of the children followed in his footsteps: James, Stella, Terese, Kathryn, Jon, and Madlyn. The family’s tennis tradition has continued into the next generation, with Jon’s children, Tristan, Quentin and Chloe, also playing competitive junior tennis and college tennis. Tristan holds several of the St. Joe College records - one being the most wins by a player in the history of the school.Today, tennis remains a unifying thread within the Boustany family. Kathryn helped secure a national title as part of the USTA 50 & Over Mixed Doubles Team Championship, Jon and his team won the USTA Men’s 18 & Over Championship, while James has enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a tennis professional in New Orleans. Of the 128 players throughout the world, Andy was one of the last Show MoreSimply put, Andy Lloyd is one of the greatest players to ever come out of the Shreveport-Bossier area. In 1961 He made it to the third round of the US Open and then beaten by Rod Laver. In 1962, Andy reached the quarterfinals of the US Open before losing to Roy Emerson. Of the 128 players throughout the world, Andy was one of the last eight to be eliminated. He also reached the round of 16 in both 1961 and 1964 in the Cincinnati Open. Andy came out of a world class tennis program at Trinity University and went on to become a tennis legend in the Shreveport community and of course, beyond. Not only was Andy a great player but he was a class act and always a gentleman on the court.
