KO OLAU FOUNDATION The purpose of the corporation shall be to pursue and promote Hawaiian cultural values to include the following practices of these values: preservation, charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, fostering national or international amateur sports competition also known as "Makahiki games", perpetuating the history and heritage of Hawai'i; relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged; advancement of religion; advancement of education or science; erecting or maintaining public building, monuments, or works; lessening the burdens of government; lessening neighborhood tensions; eliminating prejudice and discrimination; defending human and civil rights secured by law; and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency.
