HELPING HANDS MINISTRIES OF THE WOODRUFF AREA INC About Us “Then the righteous will answer him, ’Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:37-40 Our HistoryIn 1991, a group of area Ministers gathered to discuss the best way to help folks in our community who needed a hand up with food and financial assistance for utility bills. These Ministers rallied their congregations and the community for this cause and as a result Helping Hands Ministries of Woodruff was founded! Start-up funds were donated be local churches, businesses, civic organizations and individuals. During that first year more then 150 families received food, and emergency financial assistance with utility bills and life sustaining prescription meditations. Helping Hands has grown steadily over the years. The organization now helps thousands of individuals and families each year remain fed, warm and healthy.Helping Hands has been located in its present location since 1992. The organization boasts more than 30 regular volunteers, and offers a large food pantry, a clothes closet, special supplies for babies and referral assistance. Helping Hands is able to help the Woodruff community because of continuing support from volunteers, financial contributors, grants and prayers. Our MissionHelping hands Ministries provides crisis assistance to area residents.
