We are a trusted resource and change-maker proudly serving the individuals, employers and community of Columbia, SC, and surrounding areas. The Babcock Center mission is to empower people with lifelong disabilities to enjoy life by promoting abilities and respecting choice. Donate Residential Supports We offer nearly 68 residential programs throughout Richland County. Support options range from independent supported living to intensive 24-hour care. Learn More Volunteer Opportunities Our volunteer opportunities are available in a number of areas including residential homes and work training center. Learn More Our Mission Since 1970, the Babcock Center has pioneered an inclusive and barrier-free community for people with lifelong disabilities. To date, over 5,000 individuals have directly benefited from employment opportunities, independent living and life skills, and enriched community connections. The Babcock Center is the largest provider of community services in South Carolina, operating seven vocational training centers in Richland and Lexington Counties and delivering support to over 65 residences
