We thank all of the volunteers, kitchen managers, staff, and board members who have served during those years and look forward to meeting volunteers, staff, and board members to come. ​​​ The kitchen is closed during bad winter weather and when other organizations offer to serve lunch. ​Who Are We? We are an independent, non-denominational, non-profit organization serving free lunches Monday through Friday, hours as posted above. Meals are served at Trinity Episcopal Church (the Red Door church) at the corner of Willey and Spruce Streets. ​ Established in 1984, our goal is to provide a nutritional lunch-time meal in a safe, clean, uplifting environment for the hungry in the community. ​ The Community Kitchen is managed by a Board of Directors composed of community members and all financial support comes from local charitable foundations, civic organizations, churches, and individuals.Our mission at the Community Kitchen Inc. is to combat food insecurity by providing free meals. Recognizing that other basic needs are also important, we assist as we are able. This year we are putting together Cold Weather Comfort Packs. Each pack contains: a full-size comforter, winter coat, hat, scarf, gloves, socks, hand warmers, lip balm, hand cream, and other personal hygiene items. The Comfort Packs will be distributed at the Community Kitchen. Here is your chance to make a difference for some folks in our community who need it most.
