ANNALEAH AND MARY FOR TRUCK SAFETY
Data sourced from IRS 990 public filings
ANNALEAH AND MARY FOR TRUCK SAFETY The primary purpose of AnnaLeah and Mary for Truck Safety is Testing for Public Safety of all road users. We do this through the support of truck underride research. Hundreds of people die under trucks every year. Our purpose is to reduce those preventable deaths by means of the development and crash testing of underride protection prototypes. The latest crash testing event took place on September 13, 2024, at the North Carolina State Highway Patrol training facility in Garner, North Carolina. Testing occurred with tractor trailers -- crashing both a passenger vehicle & a bicyclist with a crash dummy into the side of a trailer. Safety precautions are taken with barriers erected to protect observers while viewing the testing. This takes a great deal of preparation, planning, & tweaking in collaboration with underride experts who volunteer their time. Then we publish, provide, and promote the practical use of the research results to encourage requirement & use of these safety devices.
