FRENCH AMERICAN SCHOOL OF BOCA RATO FAIS develops multilingual, confident, and open-minded critical thinkers through its dual-curriculum program focused on bilingualism and inquiry. Every student is educated for success in both English and French by developing into inquisitive, informed and compassionate global citizens. Our vision is to cultivate a community of globally-minded reflective thinkers through a multilingual and multicultural education, celebrating diverse perspectives in an ever-changing world. We have qualified native-speaking teachers in both language immersion sections: French/English. The French curriculum offers all elementary and middle school school subjects in French, adhering to and accredited by the French Ministry of Education. Students not only become proficient in a new language, but learn Mathematics, Sciences, History and Civics/Ethics from the famously rigorous French academic program. The American curriculum, taught in English, meets the American (Florida State) standards. The school offers as well a large selection of enrichment courses; from Art, Art History, Music (Chorus, Piano), Computer Technology (based on the NETS “National Education Technology Standards” and the French Brevet requirements), Foreign Languages and Physical Education. IB (International Baccalaureate)- In addition to this already rich and challenging curriculum, FAIS is an IB World School. We teach the PYP (Primary Years Programme) , a globally recognized program offering an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding. Standing firmly behind our commitment to languages we offer Introduction to a third language: Spanish. All staff members undergo State and National criminal background checks and fingerprinting, as well as CPR and First Aid Certification.
