DSRCT is classified as a soft tissue sarcoma. It is an aggressive and rare tumor that primarily occurs as masses in the abdomen. The prognosis for DSRCT is very poor with a 5 year survival rate of 15%. Treatment options for DSRCT include surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Current therapies remain highly toxic and have not achieved complete disease control. The development of new treatments that could someday cure DSRCT is greatly needed. Cory Douglas Monzingo Endowment for DSRCT ResearchThe Cory Douglas Monzingo Endowment for DSRCT Research was established at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2011 to provide a perpetual source of funding to support the research of DSRCT with a goal of someday having a cure for this rare cancer.
