Data sourced from IRS 990 public filings
The Community Food Connection The Community Food Connection is a food pantry/bank. It has 200+ volunteers that help with the distribution process. Volunteer drivers use their vehicles to collect donated food from 40 grocery stores in the area. This arrangement is set up thru Feeding San Diego. The food is then sorted and repackaged into boxes for distribution to the families that are food insecure in the community. The Organization is open for food distribution on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3 to 6 pm for food distribution. The Community Food Connection also distributes food for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP) which is a program thru the Jacob Cushman San Diego Food Bank. The food bank supplies the food for this particular program. People qualify based on income criteria and are allowed one distribution per month. The Community Food Connection supplements these families with food distribution.
