MAINE WOMENS GIVING TREE MWGT is a charity that distributes grants to local organizations to promote the welfare of women, children and families. Members pay a yearly membership fee of $50 to operate the organization and pay bills. During the calendar year members donate a minimum of $365 that is awarded as grants in the following year. For instance, money collected in 2020 was awarded as grants in 2021, and in 2024 grants of $104,500 were given after a rigorous evaluation process that includes at least 25% of the membership.
