JAMES P AND DEBRA FITZGERALD HEALY FOUNDATION INC The Healy Foundation seeks to step in and give under-resourced, high-performing college juniors and seniors the financial means to finish their education at a time when unexpected personal hardship jeopardizes their academic aspirations. Unanticipated adversity (e.g. parental unemployment, grave family illness) during ones college education is an undeniable challenge for any student; however, the financial burden of such personal setbacks puts low-income students at increased risk of dropout and academic regression, obscuring their pathway to financial security.
