Unlike many programs focused solely on technical mastery, we integrate culturally responsive practices that celebrate the traditions of Black and Brown communities while addressing systemic barriers to access and representation in the arts.We strongly believe in the power of intention — that with racial and social justice and liberated black and brown communities, youth will magnify their personal power. We transform the lives of youth through culturally responsive artistic experiences.Our programs develop technical skills in dance, step, music, spoken word, and theater while creating a supportive environment that builds self-worth, confidence, and drive through creative self-expression.We are committed to eliminating racial inequalities in the arts and dismantling systems of oppression with and through our art.By cultivating healthy, skilled, and confident young artists, TheGifted Arts transforms individual lives and contributes to the arts community at large. The nonprofit arts and culture industry generates over 20,000 jobs in North Carolina. Our work ensures that more artists of color are represented in this vital sector, bringing diverse perspectives and traditions to the professional arts landscape.
