ILLINOIS COALITION AGAINST DOMESTIC WHO WE ARE The Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) is the federally designated statewide coalition of domestic violence services providers for the state of Illinois. We are the network of providers that together make up the statewide voice for survivors of domestic violence and their children in our state. With over 60 member organizations located in local communities providing services to survivors throughout Illinois, together we work towards ending domestic violence in our state. Policy Advocacy We the state’s leader in advocating for safer state and federal policy, which help survivors of all backgrounds better navigate breaking out of the cycle of domestic violence. Training Through providing dozens of in person, virtual and on-demand trainings annually, we have empowered thousands of domestic violence professionals, advocates, and those working in other systems with the knowledge and skills to best assist survivors and their children. Technical Assistance We are Illinois’s technical assistance provider, supporting and providing resources to member agencies throughout Illinois. We stand in unity working with our member programs to end domestic violence. More About Us DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NOT A PRIVATE ISSUE We live in a world where 1 in 3 Women, and 1 in 7 Men are victims of domestic violence. The harmful effects of domestic violence are far reaching, undermining justice and safety in all corners of our society. Once mistakenly thought of as a private issue, we’re inviting you to join the public conversation about domestic violence issues. When one of us hurts, all of us hurt—survivors aren’t in this alone. And together we can do something about it. WHAT IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE? GET INVOLVED You can be a voice of change. Domestic violence impacts everyone, even if it hasn’t touched your life directly.
