SOUTH UMPQUA RURAL COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP SURCP is a community based 501(C)(3) collaborative dedicated to social and economic revitalization of the communities located in the South Umpqua river basin geographical area. Our mission is to develop a local workforce, business opportunities and family wage jobs in cooperation with Tribal governments,Federal and State agencies. SURCP facilitates collaborative aquatic and terrestrial based restoration and community based projects with Federal agencies, regional stakeholders and community members on public and private lands. We are recognized as one of 24 Oregon collaboratives focused on resolving the complex social and ecological challenges facing rural southern Oregon counties located in and around Federally managed forest lands. We also facilitate citizen science based projects that promote community health, education and job opportunities with a nexus associated with restoration ecology.
