NEWWORKS THEATRE

NEWWORKS THEATRE NewWorks a site specific theatre presents to underserved communities. Best Laid Plans was a new work inspired by a true story of a blind architect. the lead was played by a blind actor. The theatre worked with the Center for the blind, the braille institute, the blind community center and the eyehesive . 80 seat theatre 16 performances reaching out to differently abled audiences. Pre show demonstrations were given regarding coping with sight loss, Braille instruction, navigating with a cane, use of new technology. The message was disability does not mean inability. NewWorks likes to develop and present new plays. We will use the remainder of funds for our next project to develop the New work in progress series in partnership with the senior disabled community.
