Performing Arts Association of Lawrence Central High School Scroll Nationally recognized excellence in Lawrence Township Who We AreLawrence Central High School’s Performing Arts Program is nationally recognized and is one of the Lawrence Township’s signature programs. Lawrence Township has been named one of best communities in the nation for music education five times. Since 1996, LC ensembles have won four national championships, 14 state championships, and more than 20 regional championships. LC groups have performed in Italy, France, Monaco, and across the United States; performed for the Lombardi Trophy Presentation and pregame ceremonies for Super Bowl XLVI; and appeared in the Tournament of Roses Parade, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Fiesta Bowl Parade. LC Theatre productions are widely recognized for their professional quality.LC ensembles include:Marching Pride of Lawrence Township (partnership between Lawrence Central and Lawrence North high schools, 2014 to present)Spirit of Central Marching Band (prior to 2014)The Central Sound Show ChoirSweetsLC Gospel ChoirWomen’s ChoirSymphonic ChoirLC Extreme Dance TeamWind EnsembleSymphony OrchestraWinter GuardLC Theatre (ITS Thespian Troupe #5627) “Art is literacy of the heart.”Elliot Eisner Student and Parent ParticipationMore than 800 students participate annually in Lawrence Central’s Performing Arts Program. This means that more than one third of LC’s student body is involved in the arts. Many students participate in two or more ensembles!All parents of Performing Arts students are members of the full board of the LCPAA. Please join us for our monthly meetings to help guide the program. We typically meet the second Monday of every month in the Choir Room (enter through door 15).
