Westside Community Improvement Assn Jefferson Community Center and Park The Westside Community Improvement Association, Inc. (a non-profit 501(c)(3) Public Charity) supports and facilitates programs to combat urban blight and revitalize neighborhoods by increasing recreational, educational and vocational opportunities where they are either lacking altogether or insufficient to the needs of the community. The Association’s activities are dedicated to fostering a sense of working together for the benefit of the greater Eureka community.WCIA Mission Statement Together, we create Jefferson. The old Jefferson Elementary School has been transformed by community volunteers of Eureka’s Westside Community Improvement Association (WCIA). The Jefferson Project has already completed a playground area with new equipment and has opened the building to many organizations for meetings and recreational activities. The excitement builds as our neighborhood shows its commitment to a clean safe neighborhood full of activities for all ages, from gardening and cooking to dance and drumming, improving oneself an learning new skills. Free Meals for Kids ages 18 & Under https://www.jefferson-project.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2024-Summer-Food-Flier.jpg Jefferson operates a USDA SFSP nutrition program, providing delicious and healthy free meals to any and all kids ages 18 and under. SFSP meals currently accompany our outdoor activity enrichment programs, but anyone 18 and under is welcome to join us for meals. See our calendar for what’s coming up next!
