FRIENDS OF MIANUS RIVER PARK INC
Data sourced from IRS 990 public filings
FRIENDS OF MIANUS RIVER PARK INC The purpose of the Corporation is to bring together and educate park users, and to work to maintain the park in its natural state by creating sustainable trails, closing unsustainable trails, reversing the erosion on the riverbank, and making appropriate plantings, while removing invasive species The park is open to the general public all year and is located in the city of Stamford and the town of Greenwich. The park is used by hikers, dog walkers, fisherman and bikers. With Covid 19, the number of users has essentially doubled. Fundamentally, the only thing we spend money on is the plantings, tools for the work, fencing and riverbank restoration. A small amount of money goes to the administration expenses such as a web site, and a po box and. In 2021, with the help of Aquarian Water Company, a high school group and a boy scout troop, we installed 800 more feet of post and rail fencing. We also installed new signage throughout the park to guide the users.
