MAYA ORGANIZATION MAYA's mission is to empower BIPOC and marginalized birthing people and birth workers and to create positive change in the systems that impact them. MAYA provided perinatal mentorship, education, doula care, and counseling to 701 birthing people in 2024. Additionally, MAYA provided group and individual counseling to 345 incarcerated individuals. The goal of the program is to improve well being, experiences, and outcomes for birthing people and incarcerated individuals.
