THE ARC OF INDIANA COUNTY Mission: Empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities and developmental delays to champion a life of inclusion, ability, opportunity, and equality. Vision: We achieve this through advocacy, education, and resource support. We identify barriers, build partnerships, and realize positive solutions. Our May 2025 Newsletter is now available to view. The Arc of Indiana provides information, education and support for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and for their families. We believe that the earlier a child receives the appropriate programs and services, within the community, the greater the opportunity for the child to grow up happy and successful. The Arc of Indiana County can assist parents and their children, as well as adults, in numerous ways. Our organization: Providing quality educational advocacy and ability-supported services for individuals with disabilities requires a collaborative approach. The Arc of Indiana County promotes and supports open, respectful, and constructive communication among parents, students, educators, agencies, organizations, legislators, law enforcement, health care providers, and community leaders/members. For adults with disabilities, we offer valuable information and guidance on supports, transition planning, employment, and available services—empowering individuals to make informed decisions and live their best lives. The Arc works at the national, state, and local levels to monitor and influence laws and regulations that impact individuals with disabilities. We meet with local legislators, issue action alerts, and actively advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities in our local communities, throughout the state, and the nation. To raise community awareness, equality, and provide parental support and training, The Arc of Indiana County sponsors a wide range of events, including seminars, workshops, conferences, the Local Task Force, and other meetings year-round. These initiatives aim to address disability-related issues, reduce health disparities, and offer meaningful resources and support to individuals and their families. Additionally, through our Independent Monitoring for Quality (IM4Q) program, we conduct satisfaction surveys to help ensure the quality and effectiveness of services being received locally and in surrounding communities. We welcome you to stop by and visit our office.
