Poultney Historical Society Mission Statement: The Poultney Historical Society, founded in 1935, is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3), membership-supported organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the history of the Town of Poultney. In fulfilling this mission, the Society (1) collects, preserves, and interprets genealogical, biographical, architectural, cultural and historical matter pertaining to the Town of Poultney, (2) owns, preserves, and opens to the public such historical buildings as it shall acquire, (3) makes its resources accessible to researchers, genealogists and the general public, and (4) holds meetings, creates exhibits, sponsors programs, and runs special events for the education and enjoyment of its memebers, the Poultney community and the general public.
