COUNCIL ON IMMIGRANT RELATIONS In the past year, the Council on Immigrant Relations (CIR) provided over 400 immigration consultations and opened 308 new legal matters. Our DOJ-accredited representatives assisted clients with asylum, family petitions, TPS, humanitarian parole, and removal defense. We served individuals from across Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean, many of whom were fleeing violence, political persecution, or instability. While CIR did not conduct public workshops or provide social services directly, we shared educational materials and Know Your Rights resources with community partners who deliver those services. CIR remained focused on providing high-quality, individualized legal representation to low-income and underserved immigrants navigating the U.S. immigration system. Through this work, we helped clients access lawful pathways to remain in the U.S. and defended the principle of due process in complex and often urgent legal cases.
