CATIE HOCH FOUNDATION The kindness of JK Rowling ​The Catie Hoch Foundation is an all-volunteer organization where every dollar delivers fun for kids and funds for a cure. A child’s cancer diagnosis is devastating and the strains on the family are enormous – emotional, physical and financial. We strive to help alleviate some of those burdens because we know first-hand what these families are going through. How we've helped make a difference in the lives of children with cancer: ​ Emergency financial assistance to families of children with cancer Pay for housing at the Ronald McDonald House across the country Treat kids to lunch and a movie Provide gas and food cards "Adopt" families of children with cancer during the holidays Treat kids to a day off from the hospital Purchase medical equipment to help find a cure, and We created the Catiebug Rainforest Bedroom at Albany's Ronald McDonald House We donate money to support research at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and for patient assistance at Albany Medical Center Hospital Catie's words of wisdom to one of her best friends who was also fighting cancer: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
