SPREAD THE MUSIC FOUNDATION INC About Walk the Beat Our vision: Music everywhere for everyone. Walk the Beat is a volunteer nonprofit organization that builds communities through music. We create opportunities for musical education, relationships and performance. Walk the Beat brings musicians to audiences in unexpected places. 2026 music Festivals WHITE LAKE AREAjuly 18, 2026 White Lake Area> Grand Haven AUGUST 8, 2026 Grand Haven> AlbioNaUGUST 22, 2026 Albion> Events Our signature event is the Walk the Beat Street Music Festivals in Albion, Grand Haven, and the White Lake Area. The festivals bring together community, businesses, and organizations with musicians and bands to offer a one-day free music event to the public. It also supports nonprofits through a raffle at the festival. Grand Haven also sponsors a variety of community events throughout the year. Youth Outreach We believe providing support and guidance for young people to learn musical skills enhances their creativity, confidence and connectedness to their community. Walk the Beat is proud to assist in multiple ways, including providing lessons, instruments and opportunity to young and aspiring musicians through our Repeat the Beat program. Each year Walk the Beat contributes thousands of dollars to this initiative. Sponsorship Spread the Music Foundation Inc. established the Spread the Music Foundation Fund in 2006, which gifts tens of thousands of dollars to local public school music programs each year. Musician Opportunities The Walk the Beat Street Music Festival provides a stage for young and seasoned musicians alike to try their chops and hone their skills. Walk the Beat has awarded $3,000 worth of studio time at Third Coast Recording Company each year at each festival.
