HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF WINDHAM COUNTY INC The Historical Society of Windham County was founded in 1927, making it one of the oldest historical societies in the State of Vermont. Since its founding, the Society has faithfully fulfilled its mission of protecting, preserving, and presenting the historical and cultural development of Windham County, Vermont, for the education and enlightenment of the general public. For almost 100 years, the Society and its Museums have been an anchor of Windham County and the Shire Town of Newfane.
