About WeatherizationWeatherization is a ‘whole-house’ energy efficiency program that helps alleviate this heavy energy burden through cost-effective building shell improvements such as insulation and air sealing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, lighting, and appliances. The program improves health and safety by eliminating any energy-related hazards. Once installed, energy-efficient weatherization measures continue to save money and energy year after year and increase household incomes so funds can go towards key living expenses. Shortly after, the agency was awarded Department of Energy funds to provide Weatherization to income eligible residents of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Since that time NETO has flourished and to date has provided Weatherization to over 10,000 households in Orleans, Essex and Caledonia counties of Vermont.
